Abstract

This research is focused on counseling leaders' leadership in management transferencing of group counseling members using behavioral approach. Transferencing is a common psychological dynamic in therapeutic relationships where a member fans his/her/counselor or other members with feelings and experiences from the past. This can affect the quality of relationship and the effectiveness of counseling, so the counselors need to have adequate leadership skills. The study was based on a qualitative approach using a library review. Journal, book and relevant scientific sources data were subjected to content analysis through identification, classification and synthesis. The results, transferencing can be a problem as well as an opportunity. The success of its management depends on counselor leadership in forming relationships, managing group dynamics, and directing behavior change. In behavioral, a transferencing is seen as a behavior pattern that can be modified through the experience of a constructive group. Its novelty lies in the integration of the concepts of transference, counselor leadership, and behavioral in a comprehensive framework to enrich group counseling theory and practice.
