Objective: This study aims to examine the effect of fatherlessness on the self-confidence of tenth-grade Accounting and Financial Institution (AKL) students at SMK Negeri 1 Warureja in the 2025/2026 academic year. Method: A quantitative approach with a non-experimental associative design was employed. The study involved 69 students selected through a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a psychological scale that demonstrated high validity and reliability (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.973) and were analyzed using normality, linearity, and simple linear regression tests with SPSS version 26. Results: The findings indicate that fatherlessness has a negative and statistically significant effect on students' self-confidence (p = 0.004; β = −0.116), with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.115, indicating that fatherlessness accounts for 11.5% of the variance in self-confidence. Novelty: This study provides empirical evidence regarding the influence of fatherlessness on vocational high school students' self-confidence and offers a basis for strengthening guidance and counseling services through targeted psychological support.
