PENDIDIKAN EKO-TEOLOGI DALAM TAFSIR IBNU KATSIR DAN RELEVANSINYA TERHADAP AKTIVITAS WISATA DI SEMBALUN

This study was motivated by the rapid growth of tourism activities in Sembalun Village, which has contributed significantly to the local economy while simultaneously posing challenges to environmental sustainability. Such conditions require an ethical and theological framework capable of guiding sustainable tourism management. This research aims to analyze the concept of khalifah fil ardh in Ibn Kathir's Tafsir, identify the eco-theological educational values embedded within it, and examine its relevance to tourism activities in Sembalun Village. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach by integrating field research and library research. Data were collected through an analysis of Ibn Kathir's Tafsir, field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing through an interpretative approach. The findings reveal that the concept of khalifah fil ardh in Ibn Kathir's interpretation positions human beings as Allah's vicegerents entrusted with the responsibility to cultivate, manage, and preserve the earth. This concept embodies eco-theological educational values, including stewardship, responsibility, environmental conservation, and balance in the utilization of natural resources. These values are highly relevant to tourism activities in Sembalun Village, as reflected in the collective efforts of local communities, village authorities, and tourism managers to maintain environmental cleanliness, conserve natural resources, and promote sustainable tourism practices.
