PENGARUH LINGKUNGAN SEKOLAH TERHADAP CYBERBULLYING PESERTA DIDIK SMPN 30 PADANG

Objectives; This research is motivated by the existence of cyberbullying behavior among SMPN 30 Padang students which is carried out through digital media repeatedly and has the potential to cause psychological and social impacts. These conditions are allegedly related to the quality of the school environment which includes the school climate, relationships between students, the role of teachers, and school policies and discipline. This study aims to describe the school environment, cyberbullying behavior, and analyze the influence of the school environment on cyberbullying of SMPN 30 Padang students. Methods: The research used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The research population was 256 students, while the sample was 50 students in class VII who were selected using the purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was in the form of a questionnaire, while the data analysis used a simple linear regression test. Results: The results of the study showed that the school environment was in the category of quite high, cyberbullying behavior was in the high category, and there was a significant negative influence between the school environment on cyberbullying. Novelty; The novelty of this study lies in empirical evidence regarding the influence of the school environment as measured through aspects of school climate, relationships between students, the role of teachers, and school policies and discipline on the cyberbullying behavior of SMPN 30 Padang students.
