PENGARUH PERAN GURU MENGAJI DALAM MEMBENTUK KUALITAS BACAAN AL-QUR’AN DAN KARAKTER ANAK-ANAK

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of the role of reciting teachers in improving the ability to read the Qur'an while supporting the formation of children's character. Learning the Qur'an is not only related to the ability to read fluently and correctly, but can also be a means of instilling religious values, discipline, responsibility, and manners. This study aims to analyze the influence of the role of reciting teachers on the quality of Qur'an reading and the character of children on Jalan KUD Bagan Besar, Dumai. The research uses a quantitative approach with an associative type of research. The research population is all children who actively participate in reciting activities at the research site, with sampling techniques using saturated sampling or total sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires, rubrics for assessing the quality of Qur'an reading, and documentation. The research variables consisted of the role of the reciting teacher as an independent variable (X), the quality of the Qur'an reading as the first bound variable (Y1), and the child's character as the second bound variable (Y2). The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression through two test models to determine the influence of the role of the reciting teacher on each bound variable. This study is expected to provide empirical evidence regarding the contribution of the role of the reciting teacher in improving the quality of Qur'an reading and supporting the formation of children's character in the community.
