Planning is a fundamental management function because it determines direction, objectives, priorities, and resource allocation for achieving intended outcomes. From an Islamic perspective, planning is not merely an administrative technique for attaining worldly targets, but a form of rational effort guided by monotheism, trustworthiness, public benefit, responsibility, and an integrated orientation toward worldly and hereafter life. This article aims to analyze the concept of planning from an Islamic perspective based on the Qur'an and Hadith and to formulate principles relevant to management practice, particularly Islamic educational management. The study employs a qualitative approach using library research. Primary data consist of Qur'anic verses and prophetic traditions related to preparation, strategy, prudence, consultation, and future orientation, while secondary data are drawn from scholarly journal articles and Islamic educational management literature. The analysis is descriptive-interpretive, involving thematic classification, concept comparison, and synthesis. The findings indicate that Islamic planning is visionary, systematic, realistic, participatory, ethical, adaptive, and oriented toward public benefit. Qur'an 59:18 emphasizes attention to what one prepares for the future; Qur'an 8:60 illustrates preparedness and capacity building; while Qur'an 3:159 demonstrates the relationship between consultation, decision-making, and reliance on God. Therefore, planning in Islam represents an integration of rational planning and spiritual consciousness: human beings are required to formulate strategies seriously, manage resources responsibly, and ultimately entrust the outcome to Allah.
